22/10/07 Legends 3 - 11 Gauze Roadstar
The Legends took a pasting a Bo'ness last night against a decent Gauze Roadstar team. With Nando pulling out late on due to work commitments the Legends were forced into the rotation keeper again.
This time the opposition knew our weakness. The Legends started off brightly but were foiled on a number of occasions by the Gauze keeper. Kieran Sweeney making his debut for the Legends gifted the ball to Gauze at the edge of the box and Gaffer Mince in the sticks didn't have a chance. After that Gauze started lashing the ball in left, right and centre to go 4-0 up.
Young Sweeney then made up for his error with a cracking strike before Gauze added another couple of long rangers. Gaffer Mince bagged a brace to try and restore some respectablity to the score but as The Legends tried to score Gauze were consistantly finding bottom corners with good finishes. 11-3 it finished and it was definitley a story of one keeper, unfortunatly they had him.
Hopefully the Legends can come back next week with a victory against Broxi Bears. 7.30 k.o
Please let Gaffer Mince know if you are avaiable.

15/10/07 Legends 7 - 2 WATP Utd
The Mighty Legends continued their good form from last week with a convincing victory over WATP last night. With the NST and Tambo back in the team it was always going to be the ball doing the work, and that’s exactly what Gaffer Mince's men did. WATP hardly got a touch in the first 5 minutes and it was no surprise when the Legends went ahead through Gaffer Mince as he played a lovely 1-2 with Wee Man and slammed the ball home with his left peg. It was Mince and Wee Man who combined again for the second, this time Wee man with a carbon copy of his strike last week.
The Jableator then got in on the act with a cool finish to make it three and easy. At this point the late coming Pomp arrived only to see the Legends concide two in quick succession. Would the gaffer's decision to drop (sorry rest) Sinky come back to haunt him you ask?? Well the answer was no, in fact that was to be the last goal for WATP though. The Legends passed the ball excellently and Father Time Tambo shored up the defence to make sure nothing got by. Even a crunching tackle from the WATP Ballbag couldn't rattle the Grey Rock. Wee Man then claimed his brace as did Jables shortly after to make it 5-2.
By this time the Legends were cruising and the WATP Ballbag's were losing the plot with Wee Man in particular because he continually passed back to the goalie. Read the rules you twats!! There was a shout of 'The next time you do that yer going up in the air' That threat didn't materialise and Wee Man continued to pass back at every opportunity to rub salt into the wounds. The fact the Legends didn't have a recognised goalkeeper didn't matter a jot either as The Grey Rock protected who ever was in the sticks well enough that the shots were limited. When they did get a shot on goal both Jables and Tambo himself produced a save Nando or Serie A would have been vry pwoud of.
Gaffer Mince then also claimed a brace in the closing minutes, catching the keeper sleeping with a quick fire shot. The NST then rounded things off on the night with a good left footed finish from the left after another well worked 1-2 with Wee Man. A smashing performance from The Legends and good result which sees the Legends rising to second position two points behind main rivals Real Deal. Next week a tricky match against a good Gauze Roadstar team. 6.30 k.o. Please inform Gaffer Mince of availability.

08/10/07 Legends 9 - 3 The Dragons
The Legends got off the mark with a excellent performance against newcomers Dragons on Monday at Bo'ness. Jables MacRobbie got the Legends off to a flyer with a sclaffed finished which bobbled into the bottom corner.
The Jableator then doubled his tally with a more assured finished. After Gaffer Minces' stint and clean sheet in the sticks he came out to set up Gordy Forbes on the edge of the area. Wee man finished well with a left footed strike into the top corner. Mincey Pie himself fancied a goal and got his season going with a fine left footed strike to make it 4 - 0.
A mini comeback from the Dragons pulled it back to 4-2 but the Dragons huffed and puffed after that and the Legends were soon out of sight. Jables soon netted his Hat-Trick and Mince grabbed his brace after some excellent unselfish play from Pomp. Soon after Pomp struck the post as he tried to pass it past the keeper. Two minutes later he tried the same finish again and this time the ball ended up nestling in the bottom corner.
The Ginger Prince then got in on the act with a good strike before The Dragons pull another back. At 8-3 it was time for our very our St George or should I say St. Jables to slay the Dragons with the killer blow to make it 9-3.
A good performance all round considering no subbies and a rotational goalkeeper.

01/10/07 Legends 3 - 6 Hatchets Five
The Legends started the new season where they left off last season, with a defeat. Although Gaffer Mince has optimisim for the season ahead after a decent performance.
This season rather than two 13 minute halfs it's just on full 26 minute game with no change over. Ref Nolan described it as "Just a Half" to witch Gaffer Mince replied " "So it's just a Full" which went over dozy ref Nolan's baldy nut.
The Hatchets started off well beating Nando early doors to take the lead, however after some good pressure from the Legends Big Mikey toe poked the ball home in a Davey Narey manner to pull the Legends level. From this point on the Legends leaked 4 goals on the trot, partly due to good play from Hatchets and partly down to the Legends not tracking runs (Same old Story). However the Legends were kept at bay all night by an outstanding display from the Hatchets keeper. He denied Jables on countless occassions aswell as Mikey, Mince Serie A and The Prince. Shot after shot was parried, toed away, blocked from any part of the Big Keepers body.
However The Legends were eventually rewarded for their persistacne when Mikey slammed a left foot drive under the keeper to double his and the legends tally. Jables then eventually got his goal after 87 attempts to pull the Legends back into the game. However the Hatchets broke away again to hit their sixth near the end.
With this "one half game" it was deciving how long was to go, the Legends thought they still had five minutes or so to go at full time but it was not to be. Gaffer Mince will be purchasing a cheapo "Casio" digital watch fom the Gaerage to keep tabs on the time for next week.
