07/05/07 Legends 8 - 6 Hatchets Five
The Legends eventually confirmed Premier Division football next season by defeating McCoys in a nervous battle which saw the Legends wobble a bit under pressure. Due to a 5-0 walkover New Firm started off the night a point ahead so The legends needed at least a point to go up.
Big Mikey got the ball rolling for Legends to go one up however the lead never lasted long as McCoys equalised with New Firm cheering at the side of the park. Jables MacRobbie put The Legends back in front and Gaffer Mince then eased the pressure a bit with a good finish after a one on one with the keeper.
The Second half started badly for the legends, losing two quick goals to see the McCoys pull level. The Legends knew they were in a match now and it was time to try and shake the Mad Doom they were carrying and get a result. The Newt popped up with a goal to make it 4-3 followed by gaffer Mince claiming his brace, but again in past Brightons form the legends were trying their best to throw it away. McCoys scored again to make it 5-4 then Mikey stepped up to claim his brace. Mincey Pie claimed his hat-trick to give the Tons a four goal cushion before the McCoys came back again to make it 7-6. Jables put the game out of reach for the McCoy's though with a minute to go.
There were no cheers of celebration at the final whistle, more sigh's of relief after a pretty poor performance. Only Tambo and Big Serie A could hold their heads up after the game, and Mikey was pretty solid.
However, The Mighty Legends are now up to the Premier and ready to mount a challenge for the coming season.
Well Done to Brightons AFC this season with the wee team winning the league championship and remaining undefeated at home all season.

30/04/07 Legends 4 - 6 Bantaskine
In true Brightons style the Legends made it hard for themselves last night as they let the title chase slip out of there own hands with one more game to play. A 6-4 defeat at the hands of Bantaskine means The Legends are relying on arch rivals Teddy Bairns to take a least a point off Bantaskine next week with Legends needing a win against bottom team Real McCoys.
Legends started slow and Serie A lost his impressive shut out record to see Legends go one down. Steff Martin then popped up with the equalizer after intercepting a sloppy pass from the Bantaskine defence. However it proved to be sloppy defending from the legends which caused them to go in 3-1 down at half-time.
It was 3-2 straight after kick off as Steff went on a mazy run and cut back for Referee's favourite Jables to net. The same player then netted again to bring the scores level but rather than sitting in and regrouping again the Legends flooded forward leaving Big Serie A stranded and it soon was 5-3. Big Mikey picked his spot the bring the deficit back to one and then saw a shot come back of the bar as the Legends pushed forward for the equalizer. They could almost smell victory now but due to some poor finishing and more sloppy defending the Legends lost another at the death which may well have killed off their Championship hopes.
Bantaskine played well and The Legends weren't on top form, and had it not been for some of Serie A's heroics between the sticks it could have been a few more.
Third place New Firm have a 5-0 walkover next week which means they will finish on 27 points with a goal difference of 28. So Legends must avoid defeat next week to assure Premiership football next season given the huge goal difference advantage they have. Easier said than done given Brightons previous record in those situations.
Squeaky Bum time for The Legends now however Gaffer Mince is confident that we can do it.

16/04/07 Legends 13 - 0 Troops FC
Football All The Way yet again and Bantaskine now lie in wait as the only team between The Legends and the Fivez Division 1 League Title after an emphatic victory and performance saw the Legends dispatch Troops with ease.
Troops kept the ball for the first minute which seemed to anger The Legends and Big Mikey in particular who claimed a quick fire hat-trick to net the Legends first 3 goals. A mixture of skill strength and quality finishing from Mikey seemed to inspire the rest on the Legends into action. Gordy them chipped in with yet another two goals to put pressure on the Newt for top goalscorer, with a couple of excellent strikes, one of which was a right footer!! Hard to believe I know. Pomp then got his name on the score sheet with a clinical finish in the bottom corner and the Shiny Shoe Prince also netted with a dazzling finish as the Legends were up 7-0 at half time at a canter.
More superb play in the second half saw Gaffer Mince strike from long range and Pomp claimed his second with a lighting fast move from the Legends and another quality finish from the 'slimmest' Martin in the Legends squad. Then the shock of the night......Not one....but two goals from Tambo, and excellent finishes too. Ten Boab would have been proud of him, the first was a meg on the keeper and the second was after he had rode a brutal challenge to composed himself and slot home. Tambo rounded off an excellent second half by squaring for the Prince to claim his brace which takes the Ginger one's tally into double figures before normal service was resumed when Tambo blasted high and wide with a late hat trick chance!! Also worth mentioning was Big Serie A's second clean sheet in a row, another excellent performance from the Premier League in Italian football with a few fine saves in each half to ensure the Troops went home firing blanks!!
Thoroughly entertaining game to play in and I'm sure to watch also.
With a 5-0 walkover and 2 points already guaranteed for next week, the Legends will claim the title with a victory over Bantaskine a week on Monday (30th April) however Bantaskine play fellow Brightonians Phat Boys next week who gave the Legends a going over a few weeks previous.

09/04/07 Legends 5 - 0 New Firm
"Football all the way" a phrase that Baldy Waldo once coined has lifted the Mighty Brightons Legends to the summit of the league after giving 3rd place New Firm a footballing lesson in a 5-0 victory.
Legends got of to a great start when gaffer Mince lead from the front and pounce on a slack ball to smash it home with his left peg. Gordy "Wee Man" Forbes was next up for the Legends, keeping his great goal scoring record up when he calmly finished after good set up play from Pomphrey. The Legends were soon on easy street as Pomphrey Martin himself netted to give the Legends a comfortable three nil advantage.
Neil "The Prince" Sinclair though took a leaf out of Big Mikey's diddiness manual and ran straight across his own box to give the New Firm a PK. I think the fact that he ran BEHIND Serie A who had come to the edge of the box to close down the attacker kind of gave it away!! Big Serie A had looked solid so far and it was no surprise when he got a strong hand to it to deny the goggle eyed forward, to be fair though despite being a specky he was a no bad player.
The second half again proved to be the Legends "Total Football" half as they kept the ball brilliantly, it was only a matter of time till they scored again and it was Wee Man again hitting the target with another excellent goal. To finish the game off and New Firm's title hopes, Pomphrey drifted passed virtually their whole team then casually lifted the ball passed the keeper for his brace.
Three games plus a guaranteed 2 points in a friendly left which means the Legends could be crowned Champs against Bantaskine On the 30th of April.
Good times for Brightons as a Club as both teams can claim league winner medals in 3 games.

02/04/07 Legends 11 - 5 Pieces of Eight
It was a good night for the Legends as they clawed back the league leaders to just one point with a easy victory. The Legends, for the first time, started with no recognised 'Goalie' so it was decided 5 mins in the sticks each would have to do. Big Mikey went in first as he quote 'Wanted it over and done with'.
This never turned out to be an issue though as The Legends went on the attack from the off. Gaffer Mince had dangled a can of Irn Bru and a Mars Bar as a prize to whoever could net the next Legends goal, the 100th of the current season, and with no Steff everyone was in with a chance. It was self proclaimed rank outsider The Prince who picked up the confectionary after netting from a Wee Man cut back, quite apt that the Legends 'ginger' should win the eh.........'ginger'
Wee Man himself then got his first of a blistering hat-trick as he rifled a terrific left foot shot into the top right bin. His second was another powerful finish after some more good build up play from the free flowing Legends. Gaffer Mince put his scoring problems off last week behind him when he got in on the act after intercepting a cross field pass to finish well. Obviously he had been watching his big bruv's master class last week. Diddy of the week......Big Mikey then dribbled across and stumbled inside his own box rather than passing straight back to the keeper and conceding a free kick. Our favourite ref, Nolan, had great delight in pointing to the spot. Pomphrey was in the sticks at this point and the PK was hit low and hard, but Pomp made himself a hero by getting down to it and deflecting it away. (Get it up ye Nolan). Mincey Pie passed in his second after more excellent football from the Legends. Wee Man then grabbed his 3rd with some fine individual play and another magic finish. Pieces of Eight did score at some point although I'm unsure of who was in the sticks at the time so it was 6-1 at the break.
The second half continued in the same vain with Pomp adding to the total before The Prince netted his brace with a (again self proclaimed) Thierry Henry finish. Sinky hasn't really looked back since signing his new sponsorship deal with Nike to wear the 'Shiny 90' edition trainers. Tambo had been a virtual spectator between the sticks for the Legends and became the first Legend to claim a 'clean sheet' and that was sans trackie b's as well!!
Wee Man came back on to replace Tambo between the sticks and gave the opponents a glimmer of hope as he let in 3 as quickly as he had scored them although to be fair they were all good finishes that would have also beaten Serie A for sure. Obviously No1 Nando would have probably saved them.
Big Mikey made up for his earlier blunder with a goal and Gaffer Mince chipped in with a second half brace to claim 4 for the night. It should have been 5 but ref Nolan chopped one off Mince for being in the box when he was clearly a good couple of yards outside.... TIT!! Tambo had a late chance to notch after Mince laid the ball off but his effort slide wide. Maybe next week Tambo.
A good victory given we had no Goalie. Also the shock defeat to Bantaskine by Basement Boys Flygt has given the Legends a sniff of the Championship with 5 games to play including a game against Bantaskine. There's a good incentive of a Championship party at Nando's Bar to keep us going.

26/03/07 Legends 11 - 2 Real McCoys
Always be beware of a wounded animal..... and that's exactly what the Legends were last night after a shocking hammering the week before. The squad was virtually the same as last week with the only changes being Serie A in for Nando and eh....Big Mikey in for The Jableator. Nando wouldn't have been impressed with Serie A however as the big jessie bottled it and had the trackie b's on for his stint in goals. Widnae catch Nando daen that ser!!!
The Legends were in bullish mood knowing that they had to make up the goal difference from the week before. They never took long to produce the goods as Mikey opened the scoring with a fierce left foot drive that even Wee Man would have been proud of. A quick fire brace from the north sea tiger, who was on fine form for a change, had the Legends well in control. The McCoys did sneak one back though and big Serie A's disappointment was clearly visible as he felt he should have done better and his chance of a clean sheet was gone. Personally I think it was the trackie b's that restricted his movement, Nando would certainly have saved it.
Big Mikey then latched on to a fine pass from the NST and calmly slotted in his second of the night before setting up Boab T, who always scores, to give the Legends a comfortable 5-1 lead at half time.
It was more of the same in the second half with the Legends stroking the ball about well and in total control. Gaffer Mince should probably have added to the tally but to use and expression involving a banjo, a coo and an erse summed up his night in front of goal and he was the only outfield player who didn't net. Could he be the new Tambo? Anyway big brother Steff certainly had his shooting boots on and with some clinical finishing he doubled his tally in the second half to finish with 4 on the night and take his junior goals tally up to 172. Apart from the occasional lapse, when he thought he was 10 years younger and trying to beat everybody, it was a good performance from the Tiger. Big Mikey squared for 'Shiny Shoe' Sinky to tap into the empty net and Boab T done his usual and ran a mock to net another 3 in the second period to match the Tiger's tally of 4 for the night. That takes The Newt up to 21 for the season and gives him an 8 goal lead on nearest challenger Jables so he looks good to finish top scorer for the Legends this season.
Serie A made a couple of fine saves after the break and almost claimed a deserved 1/2 clean sheet but the McCoys scored again right at the death, nothing to do with the trackie b's this time as it was a good finish in the bottom corner but to be honest the Fat Lady had already belted out the final verse by then and it was a comfortable victory for the Legends.
Great bouncebackability shown by the Legends as they now look to chase down Bantaskine for the league title.

Terrible, woeful, appalling. Three words that describe the Legends performance. No excuses for the men in Red. The only positive The Legends can take away from that game is that two out of the three promotion rivals lost also last night.

12/03/07 Legends 13 - 2 Flygt
Another week, another victory for the Legends who thumped hapless Flygt last night.
After last weeks excellent victory against the League leaders, Gaffer Mince was forced into a few changes, Jables dropped out as Gaffer picked himself and The Prince filled......well not quite, Mikey's shirt.
After a sticky first couple of minutes Wee man put the Legends in front as he coolly finished with a right foot strike. The lead only lasted a few seconds as Flygt hit back straight away. Normal order was restored when Mr. Consistency, Serie A, finished well from the right to make it 2-1. Wee man again finished well after the keeper denied The Newt. Mincey Pie then got in on the act by sending the keeper the wrong way for the legends 4th, then shortly after setting Serie a up for his brace after some dazzling football. Gordy completed his first hat-trick for the Legends to make it a very comfortable 6-1 lead at the Interval.
More of the same please was the shout for Gaffer at half-time and more he got. The Newt who has netted a hat-trick in his last 3 games was desperate to notch, and he did so right after half time. Not long after this Newt was heard crying about the poor defending when we were clearly struggling at 7-1 up. Never happy that laddie!!! Mince got his brace, followed by two from Rab to complete his 4th hat-trick in as many games. Then came the goal of the night from The Ginger Prince, after his trip to Barcelona he must have pick this up from Ronaldinho. With his new "Shiney" trainers on, Sinky deliberately miss kicked the ball to fool the keeper and it trundled in to the bottom corner. Soon after Sinky grabbed his brace with a fine finish from a tight angle.
Flygt got another goal past new proud Dad Nando, but Gordy rounded things off with his 4th of the night to cap a excellent individual performance from him and the team. The last couple of minutes we're basically Shooty In with the Legends trying their best to tee up veteran Tambo for a clean sweep of outfield scorers but he couldn't net. The Newt clattered the bar and post in quick succession late on and with a bit more composure in front of goal the winning margin could have been a lot more for the Legends.
The Legends would like to wish Nando all the best and congratulate Him and Paula on the new addition to their Family...Lucy.

05/03/07 Legends 9 - 2 Bantaskine
Even although there is a bit of debate regarding the final margin of the victory, there is no doubting the quality of the result and performance. This win sees the Legends go one point behind league leaders Bantaskine who, on last nights showing, can be passed with a late title push from Brightons.
As with last weeks game, the Legends took an early lead when the newt finished off an excellent move with a neat finish. This set the tone for the rest of the half with Brightons playing some slick, pass and move football which Bantaskine struggled top cope with. The lead was soon doubled when big Mikey gracefully moved forward like a modern day Kaiser to stroke a quality finish into the bottom corner. Jables passed up several clear chances (including one which almost cleared the fence) before finally getting on the score sheet with a good finish from a tight angle. Newt Mclean then got his second of the evening with another composed finish as the barrage continued.
Just before the break, Bantaskine finally managed to get a goal back with a quick counter attack culminating in a sharp finish (Rav eat yir heart out. What I really mean is I cannae mind wit the feck there goal wis like!!). At half time, the Legends had a more than deserved 4 - 1 lead.
The second half continued in the same vain as the first with Brightons playing all the football and creating plenty chances, in fact, but for poor finishing (especially from Jables and newt) Bantaskine could have faced an even bigger drubbing. In the end, Jables chipped in with 4 second half strikes with young Gollum scoring at least 1 and maybe even 2 during the second period with only 1 coming in reply from the league leaders. To be honest, there was that many going in that we all kind of lost count. Final score was Brightons 9 (at least) Bantaskine 2.
Next week, Brightons Legends face bottom of the table Flygt who should probably learn to walk before trying to take off. Surely this is a great opportunity for another victory and boost the already impressive goal difference.

26/02/07 Legends 5 - 1 Teddy Bairns
An impressive and, in the end, convincing win for the Legends put them right back into the promotion hunt at Bo'ness last night. Not even the unsavoury end to the game with an altercation involving Legends' Jables MacRobbie and a Teddy Bairn clad from head to foot in Celtic clobber (not sure how he fits into that team) bearing a strange resemblance to a
deformed Aiden McGeady could take the shine off this excellent result. The Legends were given a pre match boost by the arrival of the Ginger Prince, fresh from his scouting mission at the Camp Nou.
Legends started brightly and got an early lead when Jables used the back wall to set up Rab "the newt" McLean for the opener. The lead didn't last too long however when nando was beat with a fierce right foot drive. It was a fair strike although the legends keeper, who has been in outstanding form, may feel he could have done better.
The remainder of the first half was a tense affair with very few chances. Jables (who should know better by now) and "ugly Aiden" had their first clash of the evening as tempers became a bit raised. Big serie a however remained calm throughout and found a more suitable way with dealing with the young upstart by nailing him against the boards (no g@y pun intented)
at every opportunity. The next goal was going to by vital and the Legends got it on the stroke of half time. The newt saw two efforts at close range saved by the Teddy Bairns keeper before making it third time luck to give the Legends a narrow, but deserved lead.
The 2nd half start cagily with both sides defending well and a breakthrough looking unlikely until Gordy Forbes found space in the inside left channel and calmly finished to give the legends a 3 - 1 lead. With the Teddy Bairns lacking subs, it was all Brightons from then on in. Jade McKenzie got the fourth after strolling out of defence before curling an excellent finish into the bottom corner. The newt then completed the scoring (although many believe, including the writer of this report, that it brushed off Jables' big toe on the way in) with his hat trick and giving Brightons Legends an emphatic 4 goal victory.
As mentioned previously, the game did end on a sour note when "ugly Aiden" drew the boot off Jables MacRobbie after the final whistle. Jables reacted angrily to this and proceeded to swing what can only be described as a "below average" right hook at the little sh1te. Not the brightest thing to do I think we will all agree.
Lets not take the glory though away from an impressive result for the Legends. Bantaskine next week in a top of the table clash which could go a long way to deciding the Legends promotion fate this campaign.

19/02/07 Legends 8 - 1 AFC United
It didn’t look good for the Legends pre match as defensive rock Tambo was running late and the referee for the match was our good friend ‘Mr Nolan’ who’s counting skills had left a lot to be desired in the last game he officiated involving the Legends. Mutterings of ‘feck no him again’, ‘bawbag’ and ‘fanny’ could be heard amongst the Legends and that was before he had blown his whistle.
Manager Mince had rung the changes again this week with a line up that on paper looked defensive but on the night proved more of an attacking force. This was down to a weak opposition who lacked in every department (especially brains with the number of Celtic and Ireland taps). Boab Tee fresh from a free Sunday was in for the Gaffer and Man Mountain big Mikey McMeechan was in for Pomphrey. The sight of the Green and White spurned the Legends into action straight away and they should have been a few up early doors however Gordy was guilty of trying to impersonate Steff and just like when Fiddy tries it the show boating didn’t come off and the early chances came to nothing!!
Brightons continued to play some lovely one touch fitbaw with McLean, Steef and Gordy combining well safe in the knowledge that either of The Mitchell brothers Serie A or Big Mikey was there to clean up if AFC United ever got a touch of the ball. At this point Tambo was still somewhere on the motorway. Boab Tee then showed his class when he got on the end of some quick moves and 3 delightful finishes saw the Legends open up an early cushion. In a rare attack AFC United broke down the right and managed to sneak 1 past Nando who up until then had been a virtual spectator.
The Legends took control again and Gordy was unlucky to see a shot come of the post before Big Mikey had the AFC keeper on his arse but saw his deft chip over him hit the bar. Tambo then arrived just in time to see Serie A continue his good scoring streak and go to the top of the Legends scoring charts with another powerful right footer that flew past the keeper to make it 4-1 at the break. On the half time whistle I think every Brightons player asked the ref the score though just tae make sure he didnae lose count!!
It was more of the same after the turn around with the Legends dominating possession and controlling the game. This was too much for one of the AFC United players and after Gordy robbed him he lashed out with a shocking tackle right down the back of the leg. Ref Nolan saw the incident but let the player off with the waving of a fat finger. The AFC boy knew not to try anything silly like that again though when Serie A and Big Mikey growled at him, infact I think he shit himself and was duly subbed.
With Steef playing better in the holding role he was providing pinpoint passes and played in Gordy down the left who cut inside before megging the keeper to keep his goal a game ratio going. (Woody would be jealous) He wasn’t finished there though, another swift Legends move and this time a right footer from Gordy into the bottom corner off the post.
AFC United couldn’t compete with the strength and power of the Legends and never really threatened Nando's goal in the second period and he deservedly earned his first ever 1/2 shut out. There was still time for Steef to cap a fine display and drill one past the keeper and not to be out done big Mikey also fired a rasping left footer in off the post. The Legends were denied by the bar and post and also passed up a few final chances so unfortunately there was no goal for Tambo as the Legends looked to get every outfield player on the score sheet for the 2nd consecutive week. The final score was 8-1 going on 18-1.
An outstanding performance tonight and with Tiger heading back tae the North Sea this provides the Gaffer a problem of finding a replacement of a man bang in form hitting the target on and off the field!! Weel done Daddy to be Steef.
It was a crucial win for the Legends as Bantaskine and New Firm also won on the night so the Legends remain in 3rd place but are now well clear in the scoring stakes with an impressive 57 goals scored although with a tight defence Bantaskine are still 5 goals better off overall.

Gaffer Mince rung the changes after last weeks last gasp defeat against New Firm. Out went, The Prince, The Newt, and Big Mikey, in came, North Sea Tiger Steff, Wee Man, Pomphrey and The New Steins Amateurs coach Tambo (Boo Booo!!!!)
As usual The Legends went a goal down right away, but this week that seemed to make them angry. Serie A notched to equalise then the Gaffer put The Legends in front with an easy tap in. Troops rallied for the last time to make it two a piece before it turned into the Legends Showboat. Serie A continued his rich goal scoring form with a rocket into the top corner. The North Sea tiger then got in on the act to make it 4-2 then 5 -2 at the break. With Nando dealing with the little problems Troops were causing the Legends went for it.
Last week Tambo never had a dream... more of a preminission. The ball broke out to him after Steff hit the post and he rattled an unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner. I'd imagine Tambo will be having messy dreams about that goal for some time. Gaffer Mince then claimed a brace by wrong footing the keeper. Steff then completed a hat-trick with another unstoppable left-footed drive. Mince and Serie A then completed a hat-trick each.
To make matters worse for Troops, one of their own players decided to have a shot at his own keeper.... and didn't he finish well. 11-2. Troops then did get one more before Steff grabbed his forth, Pomphrey got in on the act with a well taken goal, and Wee Man wasn't to be denied his goal a game ratio as he beat three players and cooly finished with the last kick of the ball to make it 14-3 to the legends.
Another superb display from the Legends. Every outfield player scoring for the first time. With Bantaskine drawing and Teddy Bairns loss, it put us up to 3rd and nipping at the heels of the top two.

05/02/07 Legends 5 - 6 New Firm
The Legends went in to this game confident even though we were down to 6 out of our normal 7 due to Jamie "Goody" Mckenzie calling off late due to work commitments, a suitable replacement couldn't be found and Tambo wasn't available either, so The Legends went with the 6.
Mikey McMeekin turned out for the Legends for the first time and as ususal in Big Mikey's own traditions, he strolled onto the park whilst everyone waited. Not sursprisingly nobody arrgued with him about it...not even the Newt.
New Firm were full of young fast laddies and it showed right away as the sprinted about turning the Legends all over the place. The Legends eventually got a hold of it and playing a few passes only for Gaffer Mince to have a Steff like moment and gifted the ball to New Firm for the opener. The second followed soon after and the Legends knew they were in for a tough night. Big Serie A popped up on the left to half the deficit with a finely placed right footed drive. New Firm were a constant threat and they hit the Beans on Toast twice plus Nando pulling out two or three excellent save kept Legends in the game. Eventually they struck the third and then a fourth right before half time to make it an embarressing 4-1 at the break.
Mincey Pie ordered his troops to shut them down early in the second half to prevent the long shots piling in. This seemed to have some effect as the new Firm goals dried up an the Legends came back into in. The Prince closed down the defender in the corner then like taking sweets aff a wean, stole the ball to and drilled home to make it 4-2. After getting caught 2 on 1 at the back the legends went further behind 5-2. Then Mikey marked his debut with a fine brace to pull the legends right back into it. With about 3 minutes remaining the comeback was complete as Serie A bagged his brace for the night to make it 5 apiece.
However in the dying seconds, Serie a should have claimed his hat-trick after some great work from the Newt, Serie A had the goal at his mercy only to strike it off the keepers legs. New Firm gathered the ball and played a pass between Big Mikey and Mince. There forward looked like he was going to get a strike in only for Big Mikey to stretch out a leg and get a touch to it. But in a moment normally reserved for Tambo, Mikey's touch wrong footed Nando and squirmed under his body to give Mikey an unfortunate hat-trick and New Firm the victory.
Tough luck on the legends who probably deserved no less and no more than a draw after a fighting but under par performance.
Gaffer Mince will ring the changes next to rotate the squad and freshen things up.

Legends 5-0 Pieces of Eight
Gaffer Mince struggled to get a Squad together for Monday nights game due to several call off's for various reasons, however come Kick off time the 7 man squad was assembled thanks to Nando's maw's baby sitting expertise and a Portly Jamie McKenzie agreeing to pull on a Brightons strip again.
However the night was all about one man. An unexpected surprise was about to unveil. The
Legends started of in fine style with the Newt flicking the ball up to Serie A who then recorded his best keepie uppie record with 11 until he toe poked it over to Gaffer Mince. Mincey brought it down and cracked a spectacular bicycle kick from his own half which cracked off both posts and rolled back to Tambo who to all our surprise smashed it into the top right hand corner with the outside of his "LEFT" foot from the halfway line.
Tambo wasn't finishedthere though minutes later he got the ball off Nando, and beat every man on the park, then with a balletic spin back heeled the ball into the bottom corner. During the game the Newt came off for a breather and got chatting to a 6 foot blonde stunner who requested his phone number, stating she'd never seen a finer looking bald chap in her puff. The newt then ran back on with a rager and with it set Tambo up for his hat-trick. The Prince Chipped a deft little through ball for The Newt to kill on his purple bell-end which dropped to Tambo who lobbed the keeper from 4 yard with his right foot.
The second half was more of the same for The Legends, amazingly mid game both Serie A and Gaffer Mince dropped two waist sizes and Sinky's hair turned brown. Tambo then add his and the Legends 4th of the night with a bullet header from just outside his own box before rounding hings off with a fist full of goals with an amazing overhead kick from the halfway line.
An amazing night for The legends and Tambo in particular.

Legends 6 - 5 Phat Boys
It turned out to be a night of high controversy last night a Bo'ness Recreation Centre as The Legends remained undefeated in 2007 after just edging a close encounter against fellow Brightoinians Phat Boys.
Current Player of the season Nando returned in the sticks and The Ginger Prince and Steff " Jonah" Martin lined up in last nights squad. Along with Gaffer Mince, The Newt, Jables and Weeman.
Legends got off to a good start as Neil " The Prince" Sinclair received a pass from the Gordon "Weeman" Forbes, stepped inside his man a coolly slotted home for the opener. The lead was short lived as Phat Boys equalised with a fine long range strike. Weeman then popped up on the right after some nice football to make it 2-1. Jables added to his seasons tally with a tight angle drive before Phat Boys Narrowed the lead to 3-2 at half time.
The second half got under way and Ten Boab carelessly gave the ball away to let the opposition in to even things up. So Brother Mincey Pie stepped up to redeem the Martin Family with a fine drive into the bottom right corner. Again though Ten Boab seemed to be determined to maintain his 100% losing record by again gifting the ball to them and there was not much Nando could do about the good finish. The Pressure was on now at 4-4 with only 6 or 7 minutes remaining. With Nando keeping them out at one end and the poor standard of the Legends finishing it looked like it could end that way. However The Newt continued to push the Legends on with a great display and soon the Legends were ahead again thanks to a rare left footed strike from Gaffer Mince. Phat Boys weren't finished though and to there credit again drew level with only a couple of minutes remaining. After another scare for the Legends Nando gathered the ball and rolled it out to Jables with no more than 30 seconds to go. Jabes ran into their half and curled an excellent right-footed shot into the bottom right of the net, 6-5 to the Legends with seconds on the clock. Legends kept the ball for the final few seconds to claim Victory..............or so they thought.
After the game Newt walked up to shake the ref's hand a said "Well played ref, whit wis the final score?" The Ref replied" 6-5 to the Phat boys". After a couple of calm " naw ref we won 6-5 ye've got that wrong there", the ref said " No I've not, score stands". At this many if not all of the Legends lost the plot and there was 4 or 5 round the ref remonstrating Roy Keane like. Even the Phat Boys were walking off laughing not believing there luck. Even after the Phat Boys Goalie told the ref the score he still refused to change his mind.
After the game the Phat Boys agreed we beat them fair and square in a tough match at filled in the score sheets a 6-5 victory to the Legends. Should there be any discrepancy on the web-site later the Legends will definatly protest the result.
So a tough game, a diddy referee and Steff broke his losing streak. Doubt the ref must have a few bob on it continuing.

Brightons Legends 13 - 4 Flygt
Brightons Legends started off 2007 with a bang as they knocked 13 past hapless Flygt last night.
The Legends started off quick with two quick goals from Jables MacRobbie and Emile King. However Flygt hit back with two quick fire goals of their own to even things up. This seemed just to annoy the Legends as they decided to get the ball down and play some excellent one touch football. It seems Gaffer Minces' "Football all the way" policy was starting to take shape. With Jables netting his third hat trick in three games and The Newt and Pomphrey finding the net it was 7 or 8- 3 at half time.
On the restart the Legends never relented and continued to find the net with stand in keeper Serie A seldom troubled. More goals from Jables, Pomp, Emile and The Newt bagging 4 followed. Flygt scored at the death after a little boo boo from Serie A, but he claimed he only did it so Nando would be in goals again next week.
A tremendous display from the Legends, probably on of the best yet. After a performance like that there's no reason why they can't go on to do special things in 2007.
Quotes;
"It was a nice wee game to get us started after the New Year Festivities".

"Aye, we played well, but they didnae really shut us doon and let us play a bit".

Match Report by Serie A!
We took the lead early with a quality left foot curler from serie a. 1-1 was a deflected long shot after Steff was robbed of the ball. I think Gordy made it 2-1 to us. 2-2 was a deflected long shot.
We were 5-4 down when the diabolical refereeing got worse and Steff was sinbinned for 2 mins. I made it 5-5 during this time.
Then we lost another goal to a deflection of Tambo's chest.
Then it was 8-6.
Somebody can fill in the gaps!!!
